The Slovak Zion Synod is one of the 65 regional bodies that make up the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. It is the only non-geographic synod in the ELCA, and the only synod based on ethnicty. The synod was founded by Slovakian immigrants and joined with the United Lutheran Church in America as long as it could remain a seperate synod in that denomination. The policy continued when the ULCA merged into the Lutheran Church in America and later the ELCA.

Currently, the synod has around 30 congregations located from Connecticut to South Dakota and one congregation in Canada.
