The International Standard Version is a new English translation of the Bible for which the New Testament has been published and the Old Testament is being translated. As of February 2, 2006 there were 8,886 of the 23,139 verses of the ISV Old Testament (a little less than 40%) completed. As of February 14, 2006 there were 9,424 of the 23,139 verses of the ISV Old Testament (almost 41%) completed.

The translation aims to be extremely central between a literal translation and an idiomatic translation, a philosophy the ISV translation team call "literal-idiomatic" (p. xliii of the ISV Introduction).
