Holy Wednesday is the name Christians use for the Wednesday before Easter. See also Holy Week and Tenebrae, a liturgy that is often celebrated on this day. Holy Wednesday is also known as Spy Wednesday. This was the day that Judas Iscariot first planned with the Jewish guards to betray Jesus for thirty silver coins.
